As acupuncture needles are very fine, you are unlikely to feel them being inserted. Once in place, common sensations include a dull aching feeling, warmth, and tingling up or down the limb, although you may feel nothing at all.

This varies between each patient. After your first consultation, I will be able to give you an idea of how many sessions you will need.
For most conditions, weekly or bi-weekly sessions are recommended for a period of 3-6 sessions (with the exception of gynae and fertility treatments where a minimum of 3 months is advisable).
However, no one person is the same so progress will be continually reviewed and if no improvements to your condition have been made within 3 sessions, we will discuss together if continuing is worthwhile.Acupuncture is cumulative, meaning regular, frequent sessions are recommended in the initial phase of treatment to get the best results. In some cases, after a condition has improved, ‘maintenance’ treatments are recommended which can be monthly, bi-monthly or seasonal.

Absolutely! And in fact acupuncture is fantastic for relieving pregnancy symptoms from pelvic girdle pain to nausea and fatigue. I have completed extra training for acupuncture during pregnancy and so you will be in safe hands.
Please ensure that I am aware that you are pregnant, or might be pregnant, to ensure you get the best outcome for your session.
